Windows Systems Administrator

Salary:  $150K - $175K plus bonus and benefits

Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid Work Model

Overview:

Skilled and experienced Windows Systems Administrator to join our client in the financial services sector. This position is based in New York City and offers a hybrid work model. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows systems administration and demonstrable experience in successful Azure migrations.

Responsibilities:

1. Windows Systems Administration:

  - Manage and maintain Windows-based servers, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance.

  - Perform routine system monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting to maintain a stable IT environment.

2. Azure Cloud Migration:

  - Lead and contribute to Azure cloud migration projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  - Design and implement cloud solutions to enhance scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

3. Security and Compliance:

  - Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard financial data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

  - Conduct regular security assessments and address vulnerabilities promptly.

4. System Optimization:

  - Optimize Windows-based systems for performance and resource utilization.

  - Recommend and implement system upgrades and enhancements to meet evolving business needs.

5. Backup and Disaster Recovery:

  - Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.

  - Conduct periodic tests to validate the effectiveness of recovery procedures.

6. Collaboration and Documentation:

  - Collaborate with IT teams and other departments to address technical challenges and implement solutions.

  - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.

7. End-User Support:

  - Provide technical support to end-users, addressing issues related to Windows systems and applications.

  - Develop and deliver training to enhance end-users' IT proficiency.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Strong expertise in Azure cloud services and successful migration experience.

- In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory.

- In-depth scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc)

- Familiarity with financial industry regulations and security standards.

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate are a plus.
